San Ramon, CA Short-Term Rentals: Parking Rules (2026)

The San Ramon Municipal Code requires a minimum of two covered off-street parking spaces per single-family dwelling and additional spaces for multifamily units. For any transient lodging use, guest vehicles must be accommodated on-site; using the public right-of-way as overflow parking violates the zoning code and can trigger enforcement through the Community Services Division. Streets in many San Ramon neighborhoods are narrow with limited curb space, and vehicles parked in the street for more than 72 consecutive hours violate California Vehicle Code 22651(k) and can be cited or towed. Many master-planned communities and cul-de-sacs also enforce overnight parking restrictions through HOA rules or posted signage.
