Lynwood Municipal Code § 4-8.9 governs signage for garage, yard, patio, rummage and estate sales held under the city's special permit program for residential zones. Subsection f restricts a permitted sale to two signs, both located on the property where the sale takes place; no sign may go up more than a single day before the sale begins, and it must be taken down by the end of the sale's last day. The code separately forbids posting any sign off the sale site, expressly naming the public right-of-way, public utility poles and median islands as prohibited locations, closing off the common workaround of directing traffic with signs on nearby corners or medians.

The sign rule sits inside the broader special-permit requirement: a resident must first obtain a special permit from the license collector before selling personal property to the public in a residential zone, and an adult must be present the entire time the sale, and its signage, is up. Because a permit is tied to one designated weekend per calendar quarter, April, August or December, the two-sign limit and the one-day posting window apply to each of those three permitted weekends individually, not to a running annual total.

Code enforcement, the license collector and the sheriff's department all have authority to check compliance, and a permit or copy of it must be displayed at the sale site alongside any signage.
