Norman, OK Sign Regulations: Garage Sale Signs (2026)

NCC section 20-1103 governs signage for a garage, patio, porch, or yard sale permitted under sections 20-1101 and 20-1102: the sale may be advertised by the use of one temporary sign, and that sign must be placed in the front of the sale location. The provision does not authorize a second sign, a permanent sign, or an off-site directional sign posted at a nearby corner or on a neighbor's lawn to route shoppers to the sale; the plain text ties the single sign to the location where the sale itself is happening. Because the sign allowance exists to advertise a sale that is already lawful, it presumes the underlying permit requirements of section 20-1101 have been met, including the zoning-district restriction and the twice-per-year caps carried in section 20-1102.
