14 of the Chandler Sign Code governs window signs, any sign painted on or adhered to the interior or exterior of a glass door or window, or placed inside a window and visible from outside, per the 'Sign, window' definition in Section 39-3. ' Coverage is measured per building side, so a corner tenant with street-facing glass on two elevations gets a 25 percent allowance on each side separately. Because the code adds that 'the area of said sign shall not be included in the total allowed sign area,' a business already at its wall- and freestanding-sign maximum under Section 39-9 can still add window graphics on top, up to the quarter-glass limit.

2(G), so the Zoning Administrator's Planning Division does not require an application, fee or plan review before a business installs window lettering, decals or painted glass, a real savings compared with permanent wall or freestanding signs, which need structural and electrical plan review under Chapter 29. The exemption is narrow: it covers only signage on or in the window itself. A separately illuminated or projecting window-mounted display can fall under the wall-sign or cabinet-sign definitions instead, which do count toward the site's total allowed sign area and do require a permit.
