Oldham County, KY Soliciting & Door-to-Door: No-Knock Registry (2026)

Oldham County Code § 111.07(A) restricts when a licensed peddler may operate in the county, listing three prohibited windows: before 9:30 a.m. or after 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, before 11:00 a.m. or after 5:00 p.m. on Saturday or Sunday, and at any time after sunset or before sunrise, whichever limit is tighter on a given day. The section sits in the chapter governing peddlers generally, whose stated purpose under § 111.01 is to protect public health, safety and welfare by regulating peddling, itinerant trading and door-to-door sales while background-checking and licensing those who engage in it; the same purpose clause expressly disclaims any intent to license pre-arranged sales calls or to burden political canvassing or religious door-to-door speech.

Subsection (B) requires that any peddler under age 18 have an adult co-sign the application and supply the adult's address and relationship to the minor applicant. Subsection (C) exempts stationary roadside agricultural stands and charitable organizations from the licensing and, by extension, the hours restriction that attaches to a peddling license, though the stands must still meet county planning and development regulations and cannot be located on a public right-of-way. The code does not establish a do-not-knock or no-solicitation registry that residents can join to bar peddlers from their property; the only county-wide time restriction on peddling is the fixed schedule in § 111.07(A).

Enforcement runs through any law enforcement officer or deputy, who may issue a citation for peddling outside these hours or without a license under § 111.08, referable to County District Court.
