Bossier City, LA Special Events & Permits: Park Event Permits (2026)

Sec. 70-68(e) governs reservations of city park areas and facilities: any person wanting to reserve space must file an application with the parks and recreation division at least 15 working days before the requested use date. Paragraph (1) makes the filing mandatory for every group of 25 or more people who want to access or reserve a park area or facility, and requires even an individual planning a smaller gathering to file an application, using the form set out in City Management Regulation Number 1-3200, 'Procedures to Control Groups of 25 or More Persons Wishing to Use Bossier City Parks or Recreational Area.' Paragraph (2) lists the standards the superintendent checks before issuing a permit: the activity will not unreasonably interfere with the public's enjoyment of the park, will not unreasonably detract from public health, welfare, safety or recreation, is not reasonably anticipated to incite violence, crime or disorderly conduct, will not require unusual or burdensome city expense or police operation, and the facility is not already reserved for the requested day and hour.

Paragraph (3) binds every permittee to all park rules as though written into the permit, paragraph (4) makes the permittee liable for any loss, damage or injury caused by their own negligence, and paragraph (5) lets the superintendent revoke a permit for a rule violation or other good cause. Paragraph (6) carves out one exception: events and activities the city itself sponsors need no permit at all.
