Inglewood, CA Special Events & Permits: Park Event Permits (2026)

Municipal Code Sec. 5-67 makes it unlawful, without the Director's written permission, to hold or take part in an organized meeting, assembly or parade involving more than twenty-five people in any Inglewood public park, or to hold any meeting, service, concert, exercise or exhibition at all. The same section bars operating loudspeakers or sound-amplifying equipment, playing organized sports outside designated areas, and using any reserved table, space or facility without a written reservation currently in effect; a reservation not used within thirty minutes of its start time is void and may be cancelled by the Director.

Separately, Sec. 2-269 through Sec. 4 govern the rental process for the City's recreation facilities, including picnic areas and baseball diamonds/athletic fields at Rogers Park, Edward Vincent Park, Darby Park, Siminski Park and Lockhaven Community Center. Permits are issued only to applicants eighteen or older, and the signer must remain present for the entire event and is liable for all activities occurring during it. Events expected to draw more than fifty people may be required to carry liability insurance naming the City as an additional insured, subject to amounts set by the City Attorney.

Rental fees must be paid at least ten days before the event, and staff may audit attendance against the application; if actual attendance exceeds what was declared, the group must pay the difference. Alcohol and smoking are prohibited in city facilities, and decorations may not use staples, tacks, tape, nails, or open flame. Appeals from a denial or condition run first to the Administrative Officer, then to the Parks and Recreation Commission, and finally to the City Council under Sec. 5-68 and Sec. 5-69.
