Inglewood, CA Special Events & Permits: Street Fair Rules (2026)

Section 8-165 of Article 13 layers extra restrictions onto the general sidewalk vending rules whenever a location sits near certain special uses. A 'place of public assemblage' is defined in Section 8-162 as any stadium, arena, theater, or similar venue with a capacity of ten thousand or more, which sweeps in SoFi Stadium, the Intuit Dome, and the Kia Forum. Around such venues, no sidewalk vendor may operate on a public right-of-way within one thousand feet, and the ban runs from two hours before an event through two hours after it ends.

The City Council can loosen or tighten that buffer by resolution on a case-by-case basis for major events such as the Olympics or the Super Bowl, both of which Inglewood is slated to host. The same section separately protects parade routes, barring vendors alongside a parade corridor from two hours before to two hours after the parade, and Farmers Markets, barring vendors within five hundred feet from two hours before a market opens until one hour after it closes. A fourth rule bars vending inside the footprint of any lawfully permitted film location during the hours in the film permit.

Section 8-166(4) extends a parallel five-hundred-foot buffer to special events held in City parks, such as community day events and festivals, unless the vendor obtains a separate event permit or the event organizer authorizes participation.
