Yorba Linda, CA Special Events & Permits: Park Event Permits (2026)

Yorba Linda Municipal Code Chapter 12.24 governs use of city recreation, activity, and outdoor athletic facilities, and Section 12.24.020 flatly bars use of any such facility without a Facility Use Permit. Applications route through the Parks and Recreation Director under Section 12.24.060, and every permit must follow any written rules and policies the City Manager promulgates. Section 12.24.030 sets a three-tier priority system: Group A covers City-sponsored programs, cosponsored events, and school functions; Group B covers nonprofit resident youth organizations with at least 60 percent Yorba Linda residents as members and temporary church uses; Group C covers nonresident groups, businesses, and commercial functions, whose requests are decided individually on the merits.

Section 12.24.040 requires fees for any Facility Use Permit to be set by City Council resolution and paid to the City. Section 12.24.050 sets conditions: applications must be in writing in a City Manager-approved form, applicants must submit proof of liability insurance, fees or deposits are due before issuance unless policy sets another time, permits go only to adults or adult representatives of youth groups, Group B applicants may have to submit a membership roster, permits are non-transferable, and the listed person in charge is responsible for the facility's condition after use.

Hours of use follow the written policies and standards, and Section 12.24.050(I) bars issuing a permit to any group whose objective is overthrowing the government by force. Section 12.24.010 states the purpose is ensuring equitable use of City facilities for citizens.
