The same timing applies to recycling: Sec. the day preceding pickup. Sec. 54-36(h) further specifies the pickup spot itself must sit at the corner of the driveway and the nearest place accessible to the collection truck, based on the sanitation superintendent's judgment of turnaround area, street width, and safety.
Sec. 54-39 separately caps the morning end of the window: containers must be off the curb within 24 hours of collection and, per that section, may not remain on the curb past that limit regardless of pickup day. Containers must be closed, kept away from the street between collections per Sec. 54-62(e), and residents may not let children play in or around them. Repeatedly leaving a container inaccessible or improperly oriented for automated pickup is itself a rules violation under Sec. 54-36(j).
