SLCRO §607.120 requires trash and recycling containers to be stored at least 3 feet behind the front of the main residential structure. Containers may go to the curb no earlier than dusk the day before pickup and must be returned the same day as collection.
Storage rules apply countywide. Containers must be galvanized metal, rubber/fiberglass, or non-absorbent plastic; or single-use plastic bags 20-35 gallons. All containers (except bags) require handles. Containers must be leak-proof, waterproof, fly-tight, and properly covered. The bin area must be 'clean, neat, odor free and sanitary.' Depositing waste in another's container without consent is prohibited (§607.100).
