Glynn County, GA Trash & Recycling: Bulk Item Disposal (2026)

Section 2-16-254 lays out precollection practices for every household in unincorporated Glynn County. Tree and shrubbery trimmings too big to bag must be bundled to 36 by 24 by 24 inches or smaller, and no bag, container or bundle in standard collection may weigh more than 40 pounds. on collection day, and empty containers must come back off the curb within 12 hours of collection. Larger yard trash beyond that size limit is handled separately by private vendors rather than the standard weekly route set under Section 2-16-257.

For genuinely bulky items, subsection (i) lets a resident schedule an appointment with the county's private collection vendor to pick up household furniture and large appliances such as sofas, chairs, beds, refrigerators, washers, dryers and water heaters; these special collections are by appointment only and carry their own fee on top of the regular solid waste charge. Multi-family projects are handled differently, receiving standard refuse service through on-site bulk containers rather than individual bulky-item appointments. Complaints and violations of these precollection rules are investigated by the Code Enforcement Division of Planning and Zoning, the Glynn County Police Department, and designated Public Works and Recreation Department staff, who are authorized to issue citations returnable to Magistrate Court under Section 2-16-248. Section 2-16-249 makes any violation of this Division a misdemeanor, punished as set out in Section 2-16-244 of the Code.
