Under Ordinance Code Sec. 380.206, yard trash must go in a garbage receptacle or disposal box, and loose (uncontained) trash collection is capped at 5 cubic yards per week per property. Crews will not haul tree trimmings exceeding 5 feet in length or 6 inches in diameter, and they will not collect tree trunks, stumps, limbs, or trimmings generated by tree surgeons or any commercial tree company: that debris must be removed and disposed of by the company that generated it. Sec. 380.207 separately caps construction-material and industrial-waste pickup at 1 cubic yard a week (2 cubic yards every other week in automated-collection areas), and excludes contractor-generated debris entirely. The Director of Solid Waste and Resource Management can suspend the 5-cubic-yard limit in a declared disaster area.
Violations & Fines
Violating any provision of Chapter 380 Part 2 is enforced by civil citation under F.S. Ch. 162 Part II and Ordinance Code Ch. 609, or by injunctive relief/civil penalties in court (Sec. 380.213). Oversized loads simply aren't collected.
