Under Chapter 19, bulky waste means large household goods and furniture that require special handling, used at the dwelling, excluding exempt waste and white goods. Section 19-4(j) lets curbside customers set out white goods and not more than 3 cubic yards of bulky waste at the curbside, as individual items; customers must schedule white-goods collection with the contractor, who picks them up within 3 days of a request. Bulky and yard waste may not be commingled with household waste. Construction and demolition debris from renovations cannot be set out at the curb—residents must contract for a C&D bag or dumpster, or haul their own C&D to a permitted facility. Household chemical waste and electronics go to designated county drop-off sites.
Setting out prohibited items or exceeding limits is a $25 administrative fine per occurrence (Section 19-9(f)); improperly disposing of C&D can draw larger penalties.
