WM provides unincorporated County residents up to five bulk items twice per calendar year on their regular collection day, scheduled at least 48 hours ahead. Acceptable items include appliances, furniture, carpet, and televisions; loose trash, tires, dirt, hazardous waste, and construction debris are excluded. A separate extra-pickup option covers a few bags or boxes.
Bulky-item disposal in the unincorporated County is handled through the franchised hauler, WM. Residents may have up to five (5) bulk items collected two (2) times per calendar year on their regular collection day. Collection must be scheduled at least 48 hours before the regular collection day, and additional bulk pickups are available at a nominal cost. Acceptable bulk items include household appliances, furniture, carpet, and televisions. Non-acceptable items include loose trash, tires, dirt, sand, rock, hazardous waste, and construction and demolition waste, which must be handled through other programs (for example, temporary roll-off bins, transfer stations, or household hazardous waste drop-off). Separately, residents may request an extra service pickup of material that does not fit in the cart twice per calendar year; each extra pickup is limited to no more than three large bags or boxes (30 to 40 gallons each) and must also be scheduled 48 hours ahead. WM also runs a live holiday tree recycling program for three weeks after December 25 at no extra charge (trees must be removed from stands, free of decorations, and cut in half if longer than six feet; flocked trees are collected as trash). Household hazardous waste can be dropped off on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month at the Chino Public Works Service Center.
Bulky pickups must be scheduled at least 48 hours ahead and are capped at five items, twice a year; non-acceptable items (tires, construction debris, hazardous waste) will not be taken as bulk. Improper dumping of bulky items is enforceable as blight/illegal dumping.
