Sec. 58-130 requires a resident to schedule bulk pickup through the Solid Waste Division before setting anything out; putting bulk items at the curb without a scheduled date is itself a Code violation. that day, kept off the sidewalk and out of the street, and at least five feet from any fixed object or waste container so they don't endanger pedestrians, cyclists, or drivers. The no-charge allowance is capped at 20 cubic yards of uncompacted bulk waste per fiscal year and no more than 10 loose yards of brush on any single scheduled date; anything beyond that, the resident must arrange and pay for commercial hauling.

New residents get a once-a-year exemption for moving boxes within a month of moving in. Acceptable items include tree limbs and palm fronds under four feet, metal or auto parts under 100 pounds, pipe under four feet and under 100 pounds, furniture and appliances, bagged yard clippings, and up to 25 pounds of resident-generated construction debris. Rejected items include limbs over four feet, unbagged yard waste, cement, brick, or asphalt, tires, batteries, and any contractor-generated construction debris. Century plants and cacti must be cut to three-foot lengths, boxed so crews are not exposed to the plant, and weigh no more than 85 pounds per container.
