Chapter 19 makes trash and recycling pickup a Township-run service rather than a private-hauler arrangement. 2 puts the Mayor or a designee in charge of collecting and disposing of residential solid waste and recyclables, with an exception for demolition, business, commercial, industrial, medical, hazardous, contractor, lawn-service, landscaper and tree-removal waste, none of which the curbside program touches. 4 describes the program as automated: residents load a Township-issued 96- or 64-gallon green cart for trash and a matching blue cart for recyclables, each rated for 335 pounds, with a 50-pound container limit for the small number of residences in areas the Township has deemed unsuitable for automated pickup.

5 gives the Mayor or designee authority to set, alter, or amend the collection calendar and fixes the frequency: recyclables, including yard waste, go out once a week, and solid waste goes out once a week, both under the Township's Solid Waste and Recyclable Collection Contract. on collection day, and must pull empty carts back within 12 hours of collection.
