6. Under single-stream recycling, residents load newspaper, corrugated cardboard, phonebooks, paperboard boxes, beverage cartons, paper bags, file folders, office paper, magazines, junk mail, aluminum and metal cans, and #1 and #2 plastic bottles together into the Township's blue 96-gallon cart, 64-gallon cart, or 25-gallon bucket. Cardboard and paper bags must be flattened, containers must be empty and rinsed with lids and caps removed and thrown in the trash, and loose recyclables set outside the cart or bucket are prohibited outright. Plastic bags themselves are banned from the recycling stream: no plastic bags are to be placed in recyclable containers.

White goods such as washers, dryers and refrigerators are collected on a scheduled weekday, but only after the resident calls the Department of Public Works to book it. 9(a)(5) directs tires, motor oil, automotive batteries, CFLs, fluorescent lamps, electronics and plastic grocery bags away from curbside entirely, to be dropped off at the Department of Public Works instead. Yard waste gets its own preparation rules within the same section: grass, leaves and brush go in biodegradable bags or bundles capped at 50 pounds, branches must be cut to 4-foot lengths, plastic bags are barred for yard waste specifically, and leaf collection itself runs only in November and December.
