Section 8.20.130(A) states that in the case of a holiday, residential collection shall be made on the day following the regularly scheduled day of collection, and during weeks in which a holiday occurs, collection shall be made on the following Saturday rather than skipped. Section 8.20.130(B) applies the identical day-after approach to commercial premises: if collections are not made on holidays, the collection shall be made on the day following the regularly scheduled day. Because the underlying weekday window in Section 8.20.130 otherwise runs 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, the Saturday shift is the only exception the ordinance builds in for a full week of routes displaced by a holiday, and it applies citywide without requiring residents to check a separate published calendar section by section of the code.

Section 8.20.140 still requires that shifted collections, like every other collection, be made as quietly as possible and in conformance with applicable city noise laws, so the Saturday makeup run is not exempt from the general noise standard that governs every other collection day.
