Lewisville, TX Trash & Recycling: Pickup Rules & Schedules (2026)

Lewisville contracts with Community Waste Disposal (CWD) for residential solid waste services. Each residential address receives one 96-gallon trash cart and one 96-gallon recycling cart. Trash collection occurs once weekly on the assigned collection day, and single-stream recycling is collected every other week on the same day. Residents can verify their collection day and recycling week schedule on the city website or by calling Solid Waste Services at (972) 219-3458. Holiday collection schedules are posted in advance and typically shift pickup by one day for the remainder of the affected week. Trash carts must be placed at the curb by 7 AM on collection day with the lid facing the street and at least three feet from any obstruction. Bags placed outside the cart will not be collected unless they fit inside the 96-gallon container. Extra trash that does not fit in the cart requires purchase of additional carts or use of the bulk pickup service. Recycling is single-stream, meaning all accepted materials go in one cart without sorting. Accepted items include paper, cardboard, plastic bottles and containers (1-7), aluminum and steel cans, and glass bottles. Contaminated recycling loads (food waste, plastic bags, Styrofoam) may be rejected.
