Richmond Department of Public Works provides weekly curbside trash collection using 95-gallon city-issued Supercans. Collection days assigned by route. Set out no earlier than 4 PM day before; remove cans by end of collection day.
City Code Chapter 38 governs solid waste. Supercans are city property and remain with the residence. Residents may request up to two additional Supercans for a monthly fee. Missed collections reported via RVA311. Holiday schedule adjusts pickups for New Year Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
Setting cans out early or leaving cans curbside past pickup: warning then $50 fine. Overfilled cans (lid not closing) may not be serviced.
