St. Peters, MO Trash & Recycling: Pickup Rules & Schedules (2026)

Section 235.080(A)(9) of the St. Peters Municipal Code restricts when collection itself may happen: no person may collect solid waste in a residential area, or a commercial area adjacent to one, between 7:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Monday through Friday or between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, and no collection may happen at all on Sunday. Section 235.090(B)(7) then restricts the resident's side of the curb: it is unlawful to place or allow solid waste to remain at the curb, the edge of the roadway, or any other open, unscreened area accessible to animals, outside the defined "day of collection," which the ordinance sets as the period from 6:00 p.m. of the day before collection until 8:00 p.m. on the day of collection itself.

Waste left out before or after that roughly twenty-six-hour window violates the Section. The person named on the customer's utility account and the occupant of the property where the violation occurs are each treated as prima facie responsible for the improperly placed waste, so either can be cited. Section 235.090(B)(8) separately caps what may sit at the curb: a disposable container and its contents cannot exceed fifty pounds, and a City or yard waste container cannot exceed two hundred pounds, or the collector will leave it uncollected.
