Full Breakdown

City Code Section 24-2-114(3) requires solid waste to be removed from residential storage containers at least once a week. Section 24-2-114(4) governs placement: the Department sets the collection time and place, containers cannot be set out on the street before the evening of the day before scheduled collection, must be out by 7 a.m. on collection day, and all empty containers must be removed from the street the same day they are emptied. Bulky waste has its own rules under 24-2-114(6), including a 75-pound/five-foot size cap and a one-day-early set-out limit.

Violations & Fines

Violating the set-out timing or leaving empty containers at the curb is enforced under the City's solid waste and litter regulations in Chapter 24-2, typically as a code enforcement notice of violation.
