Trash and recycling bins must be placed at the curb with wheels toward the house, at least 3 feet from other cans, mailboxes, or parked cars, and stored out of public view on non-collection days.
Cans should be placed on the street, not on the sidewalk, with handles facing the home and lids opening toward the street for automated pickup. Keep a minimum of 3 feet of clearance around each can and away from vehicles, mailboxes, utility poles, and low-hanging trees so the automated arm can operate safely. On non-collection days, cans must be stored behind the front plane of the house or screened from public right-of-way view. Placement in the street that obstructs traffic or parking may be cited.
