Every dwelling unit must have licensed commercial garbage service that collects recyclables at least twice per month. Nonresidential sites may use single-stream, dual-stream, or source-separated methodology. Apartment owners must provide residents a clear opportunity to recycle, including notice and education.
Violations are misdemeanors punishable by fine up to $500, up to 30 days in jail, or both; landfill loads containing prohibited recyclables may be refused.
