Full Breakdown

City code defines yard waste as grass clippings, garden waste, and leaves, treated separately from garbage and recycling. If anyone other than the generating homeowner collects it, such as a landscaper, that hauler must be licensed under Chapter 57 and must remove the yard waste at least once each week; the occupant, owner, or manager of the dwelling is responsible for securing that service. All yard waste set out for pickup must go into a Kraft-type paper bag marked for yard waste or a rigid, leak-resistant container with a fitted lid, kept separate from garbage and recyclables.

Violations & Fines

Skipping required yard waste service or setting it out in an unauthorized container violates Chapter 57 and is enforceable under the city's general penalty, § 10.999, the same as other solid waste code violations.
