Section 74-31 defines "yard trash" as any accumulation of grass, palm fronds, leaves, branches, shrubs, vines and similar items generated by maintaining lawns, shrubs, gardens and trees, a distinct category from "garbage," "commercial trash" and "construction trash" defined in the same section. Section 74-34(e) tells residents and occupants where and how to set it out: deposit trash and yard trash on the right-of-way easement immediately in front of the premises, or along a used alley where that's the collection route, in a spot easily accessible and visible to city or contract hauler crews.

Material must be boxed, bagged, or placed in plastic or metal containers not exceeding 50 pounds; bundled newspapers and magazines follow the same weight cap. Shrubbery cuttings and tree limbs must be cut into pieces no longer than four feet and no more than six inches in diameter at any point, then bound and tied into stacks not exceeding 50 pounds each. Collection runs at least once every four days under § 74-35(a), and it's unlawful to let trash or yard trash accumulate on a property for more than seven days without arranging disposal.
