Rose Hill, NC Trash & Recycling: Yard Waste Collection (2026)

Rose Hill splits yard debris into two tracks. 01(B)(6) covers debris that fits in a container: it must be bagged, packaged, or otherwise containerized, and can go in a roll-out cart as long as it is not mixed with garbage. Anything too large to containerize, branches, limbs, and similar material, gets stacked or piled neatly behind the curbline or roadway edge where the town's equipment can reach it, but the code is explicit that this bulk allowance does not extend to leaves, grass clippings, or pine straw, which must always be bagged or containerized to be collected.

02(B)(3) repeats and sharpens the preparation standard: leaves, grass trimmings, pine needles, and other yard debris must be bundled, bagged, packaged, or boxed into one-person loads, or placed in roll-out containers, again never combined with garbage, and set adjacent to and behind the curbline. Larger tree and shrubbery trimmings fall under (B)(4): they must be placed behind the curbline in an orderly, neatly stacked pile, and any pile bigger than a cord, four feet by four feet by eight feet, can trigger a special collection with an added charge set by the Public Works Director.

Commercial landscaping and land-clearing debris is excluded entirely under (B)(5): material cut by a landscaper, tree service, or other commercial contractor, or resulting from clearing vacant land, is not collected by the town at all, and heavy pieces like tree trunks must be cut down to a size the town's bulk equipment can handle.
