Satellite Beach, FL Trash & Recycling: Yard Waste Collection (2026)

Satellite Beach City Code § 50-33(b) sets the size limits for what goes in the yard trash cart: leaves, pine needles, ornamental shrub clippings, palm fronds and tree trimmings qualify only if the branches are less than six inches in diameter, less than five feet long and weigh no more than 50 pounds. Anything bigger, like tree branches and palm fronds too large for the cart, has to be cut into five-foot lengths, bundled, and stacked at the curb for the contractor to pick up.

Vegetative garden and yard trash has to stay segregated from ordinary household solid waste and placed in its own separate cart, not mixed with the regular garbage cart. Section 50-37(a) sets garden trash collection for every Monday, the same day as recycling, while household solid waste runs Tuesday and Friday. m. Monday, the contractor will still collect it, but the resident has to call to request pickup, or request it through the contractor's computer-based tracking system, and the contractor then has three business days to come get it.

For loads too large even for a bundle, such as pruning debris needing a claw truck, § 50-33(b) says the contractor provides that pickup on an on-call basis and collects not less than once a week. All of this runs through the same contractor that handles the city's mandatory solid waste service under § 50-31.
