City Code Chapter 50, Article II governs collection. Under Sec. 50-33(c), white goods and any solid waste that does not fit in a cart must be set at curbside, and the residential customer has to call the contractor or request pickup through the contractor's computer-based tracking system rather than just leaving it out. For yard debris, Sec. 50-33(b) sets the cart threshold: branches and palm fronds under six inches in diameter, under five feet long and weighing no more than 50 pounds go in the cart, while larger material must be cut into five-foot lengths, bundled and stacked at the curb.

Anything too large for that, requiring a "claw truck" as determined by the city or contractor, is picked up on an on-call basis not less than once per week. Sec. on Monday, it goes out with that week's collection under Sec. 50-33; if a resident misses that cutoff, the contractor must still come within three business days after the resident calls or requests pickup online. Sec. 50-61 covers items that fall outside the code's definition of "solid waste" entirely, such as construction debris or specialty items: the charge is negotiated directly between the contractor and the generator, with the city's decision binding if they cannot agree, and the contractor must collect within three regular pickup days after the item is set out. Regular collection runs Tuesday and Friday for solid waste and Monday for garden trash and recycling, per Sec. 50-37.
