Titusville, FL Trash & Recycling: Bulk Item Disposal (2026)

Section 16-50 of the Titusville Code of Ordinances, governing rubbish and bulky items, requires that rubbish be containerized in a container suitable for storage and collection and sets a 50-pound-per-container limit for collection. Tree and plant waste, trimmings, and bulky household items that cannot be containerized must instead be stacked in a neat manner beside the rubbish containers rather than left loose in the yard or street. The code sets a hard size limit on tree limbs left for pickup: no more than four feet in length or twenty-four inches in diameter, though this limitation does not apply to Christmas trees, which the city collects without the size cap.

Any bulky item or rubbish that requires special equipment to load, such as large appliances or construction debris beyond what a normal crew can lift, is the owner's responsibility to dispose of, and the city expressly disclaims responsibility for removing such items under this section. This differs from the separate special-pickup process in Section 16-63, which lets a resident request curbside pickup of bulky furniture, appliances and large tree limbs and pay by the cubic yard once the free capacity is exceeded. Builders, contractors and privately employed tree trimmers are separately required under Section 16-77 to remove all trash and construction debris, including limbs, stumps, roots, concrete and bricks, from a jobsite at their own expense; the city will not collect contractor-generated bulk waste as ordinary residential rubbish. These limits apply to residential and commercial premises within Titusville city limits in Brevard County.
