Parker, CO Animal Ordinances: Cat Rules (2026)

Section 9.03.035(a) makes it unlawful for a person owning or keeping a cat that is not spayed or neutered to allow that cat to roam at large in the Town. Subsection (b) separately allows an Animal Welfare Officer to impound any cat roaming at large that lacks identification in the form of a microchip, a Town identification tag, or another tag that lets the officer trace the owner's name, address and phone number. Section 9.06.010 requires every dog and cat in the Town to bear some form of identification, by collar tag or microchip, at all times, and Section 9.06.090 separately requires cats over six months old to be spayed or neutered unless a licensed veterinarian documents a long-term or temporary medical exemption, or the cat is a transient animal present fewer than 30 days.

Section 9.03.020 requires rabies inoculation for every cat kept in the Town, with proof by certificate or numbered tag from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.
