Sahuarita, AZ Animal Ordinances: Veterinary Clinic Zoning (2026)

Town Code Section 18.12.030(E) lists veterinary services as a use permitted in Sahuarita's rural and estate residential zones subject to three site standards. No structure, shelter, animal run, or fenced enclosure may be built within 100 feet of an abutting property line in a rural or residential zone, which pushes any clinic toward the interior of a large parcel. Any outdoor animal run within 300 feet of an abutting property line must instead be indoor and fully enclosed, cutting down on noise and odor reaching neighboring homes. The minimum site area for the use is five acres, and the clinic's buildings and paved areas together cannot cover more than 30 percent of that site. These standards apply on top of the base zoning district's own setback, height, and parking requirements, and a clinic that cannot meet the five-acre minimum or the 100-foot buffer is not eligible for the use regardless of how it is designed.
