Anchorage, AK Building Safety: Electrical Permits (2026)

Any owner, contractor, or authorized agent intending to construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, demolish, or change the occupancy of a building, structure or portion thereof, or to erect, install, enlarge, alter, repair, remove, convert or replace any fire, electrical, gas, mechanical or plumbing system, the installation of which is regulated by this code, or to cause any such work to be done, shall first make application to the Building Official and obtain the required permit unless work is specifically exempted by this code. Where equipment replacements and repairs must be performed after hours in an emergency situation, the contractor shall call the Building Safety Hotline (343-7500) before commencing the work. The permit application shall be submitted within the next working business day to the Building Official. (AO No. 2026-33, 4-14-2026) § 23.10.104.1.2. Parcels with multiple structures.
