Section 21-5240 of the Land Development Code lets residents run a home occupation only if it stays clearly incidental and accessory to the use of the dwelling as a residence. A city business license is mandatory before any home business opens, patron visits are capped at eight per day and confined to the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., deliveries beyond postal and small parcel service are barred outright, and no one outside the resident household may work on site. Subsection (3) then lists prohibited activities and equipment, including cement mixers, tractors, paint booths, welding, and any process that creates offensive noise, smoke, glare, fumes, odor, or vibration at the property line.

Subsection (6) separately bars any vehicle manufactured or altered to provide mobile services, naming ice cream trucks, catering trucks, and tow trucks as examples, closing off a mobile-repair workaround.
