In the City of East Orange, Chapter 189 requires anyone riding a bicycle, scooter, roller skates or skateboard on a roadway to travel single file unless they are on a path or part of a roadway set aside exclusively for those users. Riders must obey every stop sign and traffic signal exactly as a motor vehicle driver would, and the East Orange Police Department enforces the chapter citywide.
