Fencing & Safety Requirements

In unincorporated Franklin County, every outdoor swimming pool, in-ground, aboveground, or on-ground, plus hot tubs and spas, must be provided with a barrier under the Unified Development Code's Commercial Use Group standards. The rule also fixes where the pool can sit: rear yard only on corner lots, rear or side yard elsewhere, at least a 5-foot setback from side and rear lines, and never ahead of the front building plane.
