Historic-Cultural Monuments
Valencia County can designate a Historic Overlay Zoning District (HOD) over an area whose buildings or setting meet two or more statutory criteria, including cultural, historical or architectural significance. County Code § 154.154(D) lists the criteria, and designation requires a petition signed by at least 75% of the district's landowners before the Planning and Zoning Commission and Board of County Commissioners can act.
