A home-based business is allowed in any Walton County zoning district that permits residential development, under Land Development Code Sec. 2.02.00(K) and F.S. § 559.955. The business has to stay secondary to the home's residential use, cannot occupy more than 25 percent of the home's floor area, and is limited to two non-resident employees or independent contractors working on site.

Signage Rules
Walton County limits every home-based business to a single sign of no more than two square feet under Land Development Code Sec. 2.02.00(K)(2). Outside of that one small sign, the code requires no change at all to the outside appearance of the building or premises and no other visible evidence that a home occupation is being run there.
