Ventura County parks operate under Division 6, Chapter 3 of the County Ordinance Code (Ordinance No. 4446). Sec. 6305-7 (County Park Hours) bars anyone, except valid overnight campers, from remaining in or using a County Park outside the hours set by the Parks Director and posted at the entrance. Violations are a misdemeanor or infraction under Sec. 6301-1.
County parks in unincorporated Ventura County are governed by Chapter 3 of Division 6 of the Ventura County Ordinance Code, reenacted by Ordinance No. 4446 (the current County Parks Ordinance is Ord. 4600). Sec. 6305-7 (County Park Hours) provides that no person, except those holding a valid camping permit under Article 9, may remain upon or occupy the grounds of a County Park, use any facilities or equipment, or leave a vehicle there, except during the periods set by the Director and posted at the entrance; the Director may extend hours with posted notice. In other words, the curfew is set by posted park hours rather than a single fixed time, and being present after closing is prohibited. Sec. 6305-8 (Park Closing) lets the Director close a park or a portion of it for safety, repair, cleaning, emergency use or lack of use, and Sec. 6305-9 bars vehicles from remaining parked in a posted park beyond the posted hours. Overnight stays are allowed only through camping permits under Article 9, with camping generally limited to 14 consecutive days. Alcohol is addressed separately in Sec. 6305-11/6305-12. Under the penalty provision, Sec. 6301-1 (Acts Prohibited - Penalty), any person who violates the chapter is guilty of a misdemeanor or infraction, whichever applies, and on conviction is punished in accordance with Section 13-2 of the Ventura County Ordinance Code.
Remaining in, occupying or using a County Park, or leaving a vehicle parked there, outside the posted hours (without a valid overnight camping permit), or entering a closed area, violates Sec. 6305-7/6305-8/6305-9 and is a misdemeanor or infraction under Sec. 6301-1, punishable per Section 13-2 of the County Ordinance Code.
