Blue Springs, MO Fire Regulations: Fireworks (2026)

In the City of Blue Springs, Missouri, Section 235.030(A) of the City Code makes it unlawful to throw or place fireworks in a manner likely to endanger a person or property, and separately confines lawful discharge to a narrow annual window: fireworks may be shot or detonated only on July 1, 2 and 3 between 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m., and on July 4 between 10:00 a.m. and midnight. Outside those dates and hours, discharging fireworks anywhere in the City is unlawful. The same Subsection separately bans bottle rockets, rockets of any type or size, and any aerial fireworks whose cylinder or cartridge is not intended to be completely consumed before landing, year-round, regardless of the general holiday window.

Section 235.020 restricts sale similarly: only local non-profit, religious or community service organizations may sell fireworks, and only for four days, July 1 through 4, ending at midnight on the Fourth, after applying to the Revenue Collections Department, paying a $275 permit fee, and carrying current proof of insurance; permits are capped at one per 3,000 population and are non-transferable. Section 235.035 makes anyone who lets a fired device land on someone else's property responsible for resulting damage, and Section 235.040 makes each unlawful act, whether an illegal sale, an off-window discharge, or a stray landing, a separate offense.
