Moore, OK Food Trucks & Mobile Vendors: Vending Zones (2026)

Under the zoning and location rules for temporary, seasonal and mobile food vendors, a mobile food truck may only set up a temporary stationary location within a C-2 through I-3 zoning district, unless it is operating at a city-sanctioned or other city-approved special event, in which case that restriction does not apply. Wherever it parks, the truck and its employees and customers must be on an approved sealed surface, again except at a city-sanctioned or approved special event. The section also limits how long a vendor can occupy any one spot: no mobile temporary food vendor may stop for longer than 12 hours at a single location or address within a 24-hour period, and a single location includes an entire parking lot shared by multiple businesses, so a truck cannot simply move a few spaces within the same lot to reset the clock.

After reaching that 12-hour limit, the code requires the truck to move to an off-site location for a minimum of another 12 hours within the same 24-hour period before it can return. This dwell-time rule does not apply to food sales at events closed to the general public or sponsored, catered or hosted by a business group. The code enforcement division enforces these provisions, and the underlying section was adopted as Ordinance 445 in 1988 and last amended by Ordinance 358(02) in 2002.
