Ordinance 3269-24 (effective May 2, 2024) bans gas-powered leaf blowers citywide at all times. Electric blowers are allowed only 7:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. weekdays and 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Saturday, never Sundays or holidays.
Redondo Beach prohibits operating any gas-powered leaf blower within the City at any time, under Ordinance 3269-24 (effective May 2, 2024), which amended RBMC 4-24.507. Electric leaf blowers, corded or cordless, may be used only between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. No leaf blowers may be used on Sunday or on Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's Day. The Police Department enforces the rule; an earlier 2018 ordinance (3180-18) restricted blowers before this 2024 update.
Operating a gas blower, or an electric blower outside permitted hours, is a prohibited act under Article 5 and prima facie evidence of a violation (4-24.801), enforced by the Police Department.
