Quiet hours in Moorpark, CA β also called the noise ordinance, nighttime noise rules, or residential quiet time β define the hours during which excessive noise is prohibited.
Moorpark Municipal Code Chapter 17.53 prohibits noise disturbances across residential or commercial property lines between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM daily. Radios, TVs, stereos, musical instruments, and similar devices are specifically restricted during these hours. Power tools and lawn equipment are also prohibited from 10 PM to 7 AM.
Under MMC Section 17.53.070(A), operating or playing any radio, television set, stereo or digital equipment, drum, musical instrument, or similar device that produces or reproduces sound between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM in a manner that creates a noise disturbance across a residential or commercial property line is prohibited. Section 17.53.070(L) separately prohibits operating any mechanically powered saw, sander, drill, grinder, lawn or garden tool, or similar tool between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM that creates a noise disturbance across a residential or commercial property line. Loading, unloading, and handling of boxes, crates, containers, building materials, or garbage cans is also prohibited during 10 PM to 7 AM hours per Section 17.53.070(E). Violations of the noise ordinance are subject to enforcement by the Moorpark Code Compliance Division. Repeat violations may result in administrative citations with escalating fines.
