Weston, FL Noise Ordinances: Quiet Hours (2026)

Section 52.50(A) defines Loud and Raucous Noise as any sound that, because of its volume, duration, character, and time of day, disturbs, injures, or endangers the comfort, health, peace, or safety of reasonable persons of ordinary sensibilities anywhere within Weston's limits, including public and private streets, parks, and occupied residential or commercial units. Section 52.52 then lists specific prohibited acts, and subsection (E) singles out human noise: yelling, shouting, whistling, or singing that rises to Loud and Raucous Noise is barred specifically between 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. the following day.

Most of the other prohibited acts in § 52.52, engine exhaust, horns, blaring televisions and radios, defective vehicle noise, and animal noise among them, carry no set hours and remain barred around the clock under § 52.50. A resident who wants an officer to investigate a nighttime yelling complaint must sign a sworn statement under § 52.51(A); a Law Enforcement Officer can still cite an offender from personal observation without any complaint, per § 52.51(B). Enforcement in Weston runs through the Broward Sheriff's Office, which polices the city under contract, together with municipal Code Compliance staff.

Penalties follow the Code's general penalty section, § 2.99: a fine up to $1,000 per day for a first violation, up to $5,000 per day for a repeat violation, and up to $15,000 for a violation deemed irreparable or irreversible, plus up to 60 days in jail. Section 52.50(C) exempts emergency warning calls, police and fire sirens, authorized municipal and school activities, religious worship, and city services such as sanitation from the Loud and Raucous Noise definition entirely.
