Weston, FL Noise Ordinances: Construction Hours (2026)

Section 52.52(J) governs when erecting, demolishing, altering, or repairing a building, including excavation, may create Loud and Raucous Noise. The work is confined to 7:00 a.m. through 7:00 p.m. on any weekday or Saturday. It is barred entirely on Sunday and on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day, with a specific carve-out for construction or repair within a Hospital Zoning District. If urgent necessity for public health and safety arises, the City Manager can grant a permit letting work proceed outside those hours, including between 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. or on a barred holiday, for up to three working days at a time, and the permit can be renewed for further three-day periods while the emergency continues.

The section closes by declaring that it governs notwithstanding any other Code provision, making it the controlling rule for construction timing citywide. Complaints follow § 52.51: a resident signs a sworn statement to trigger an investigation, or an officer cites a contractor directly from personal observation. Enforcement runs through Weston's contracted Building division alongside Code Compliance and the Broward Sheriff's Office. Violations are punished under § 2.99, with fines up to $1,000 per day for a first offense, up to $5,000 per day for a repeat offense, and up to $15,000 for an irreparable violation, plus up to 60 days in jail.
