City Code Sec. 118-318(1), part of Chapter 118's Article VI on stopping, standing and parking, makes it unlawful to park a truck exceeding 10,000 pounds gross vehicle weight (using the manufacturer's capacity rating) or 22 feet in length, an unattached automobile trailer or boat trailer, or a truck-tractor or semitrailer on any public right-of-way for longer than two hours. The clock does not run against vehicles that are actively rendering delivery or other services in the immediate area, and the entire two-hour restriction drops away for trucks parked in industrially zoned districts, recognizing that heavy-truck traffic is expected there.

The rule traces to Code 1971, Sec. 27-216, and was last amended by Ord. No. 1999-7(2), Sec. 1, adopted December 29, 1998. It sits in Division 1 of Article VI, the same division that authorizes the city traffic engineer to post no-parking and time-limit signs under Sec. 118-323 and Sec. 118-324; those signage sections independently reinforce enforcement once a truck has overstayed the two-hour window on a residential right-of-way. Because the restriction is measured from the moment the truck is left unattended past the delivery window, a driver making stops on the same block can legally re-park briefly without tripping the limit, but leaving a tractor-trailer parked overnight on a residential street is a straightforward violation absent an industrial zoning designation.
