Peoria, AZ Parking Rules: Commercial & Oversized Vehicles (2026)

Peoria City Code Section 14-107 targets big rigs and work trucks parked near houses. Subsection (a) forbids running the motor or engine of a commercial vehicle, utility trailer or hobby vehicle for more than twenty consecutive minutes in any twenty-four hour period starting at midnight, inside a residential zoning district or within three hundred feet of an occupied home in a nonresidential area, unless the operator is actively conducting business. Subsection (b) requires a lot with approved zoning and site plan before any commercial vehicle can park there at all.

S. Section 28-3001, a tractor, semi-trailer, trailer or bus on a residential street or adjoining a residential zone, or anywhere on residentially zoned real property, except while actively loading or unloading. Subsection (e) allows a commercial motor vehicle to be kept on residential real property only inside a side or rear yard screened by a minimum six-foot block wall, wood fence or gate built to the zoning ordinance's screening standards. Subsection (f) separately bars parking a vehicle to sell food from it without the property owner's permission or on a designated Park and Ride lot. The rule was last amended by Ordinance No. 2019-14 on June 4, 2019.
