Wellington, FL Parking Rules: Commercial & Oversized Vehicles (2026)

Sec. 22-9(C) of the Wellington Code applies to residential zoning districts and residential land use categories, including the Equestrian Overlay Zoning District. The on-street rule is absolute: no person may park, store, or keep a commercial vehicle on any public street, thoroughfare, or right-of-way. Off-street, a resident may not park a commercial vehicle on residential property for more than one hour between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., and cannot park one at all between 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Subsection C(2) then carves out exceptions: one commercial vehicle per dwelling unit is allowed if it is operative, registered, displays a current tag, and no part of it is visible from the street or adjoining properties, and a vehicle marked commercial only because of outside lettering may stay if the lettering is fully covered.

Construction vehicles get a temporary pass while a valid building permit is displayed on site; delivery and service vehicles are exempt while actually making deliveries or service calls beyond the one-hour cap; a disabled commercial vehicle must be removed within 24 hours of breaking down; and government vehicles under a one-ton payload cap, assigned to a household member by a federal, state, county, or municipal agency, are exempt subject to F.S. ch. 316. Sec. 22-9(E) lets the Village grant a special exception where a property owner, family member, or tenant has a physical disability that requires a vehicle that otherwise cannot meet the section.
