Glendale, AZ Parking Rules: Loading Zones (2026)

City Code § 24-150 authorizes the city traffic engineer to designate the location of passenger and freight curb loading zones and public carrier stops and stands, and to post signs and markings stating the hours the zone restrictions apply. Section 24-151 then bars stopping, standing or parking in a marked passenger curb loading zone for any purpose other than expeditiously loading or unloading passengers during the zone's posted hours, and even that is limited to no more than 3 minutes, except a vehicle displaying a state disabled parking placard may stand up to 5 minutes while loading or unloading.

Section 24-152 similarly restricts freight curb loading zones during posted hours to loading or unloading freight, though a passenger vehicle may stop temporarily to load or unload passengers as long as it doesn't interfere with a freight vehicle waiting to use the zone, and disabled-placard vehicles again get up to 5 minutes. Section 24-153 covers public carrier stops and stands, defined to include bus stops, bus stands, taxicab stands, or any other stand for a passenger public carrier; when signs are posted, only the type of carrier named on the sign may stop, stand or park there during the posted hours.
